For 2020, Cantor Fradkin is also bringing his youth choir, the Gesher Chorale, all the way from Bethesda, MD.
Gesher Chorale is an elite group of 6th, 7th and 8th grade vocalists formed by Hazzan Asa Fradkin in 2018. They perform at many of Congregation Beth El’s community celebrations, Shabbat services and around the Bethesda community as well. Their repertoire includes original compositions by Hazzan Fradkin, arrangements of popular service melodies and pop songs as well. They are excited to visit Colorado and perform alongside the Colorado Hebrew Chorale and Kol Nashim
Cantor Asa Fradkin graduated from the H.L. Miller Cantorial School of the Jewish Theological Seminary in May 2007, and since 2017 has served as the Cantor of Beth El Congregation in Bethesda, MD since 2017. He holds an undergraduate degree in vocal studies from Indiana University’s School of Music.
As a Bass-Baritone, Cantor Fradkin is a sought-after performer and lecturer
on the subject of teen choirs, as well as an interpreter of Operatic Arias. He has been a featured performer with Gateway Classical Music Society, under the direction of Ida Angland, and was a graduate fellow in the Cooperative Program 2016, where he studied with the the finest coaches in the industry, including Joan Dornneman, Laura Brooks Rice and Stephanie Sundine.
This past year, Hazzan Fradkin was a featured soloist for Ernest Bloch’s Sacred Service with the Georgetown Chorale.
